Requirements for ACE First Surgical Assistant Program
ACE Surgical Assisting does not discriminate based on race, sex, religion, ethnic origin, or disability. Surgical Technicians must meet one of the following requirement categories:
- You graduated from a military Surgical Technology Program. You may enroll right after graduation if you show you can get your clinical experience. Or...
- You graduated from a non-accredited program or you were on-the- job trained (including LPNs and LVNs). You may enroll after at least two (2) years of recent operating room experience.
A CST credential is welcome but not required.
Others who may qualify for the program include OR Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants (PA), Medical Doctors (MD foreign and domestic), and Osteopathic Doctors (DO).
ACE Enrollment Process
To enroll in the ACE First Surgical Assistant Program, Surgical Technicians must provide:
- Copy of diploma and official transcripts of high school diploma, GED, or higher, or DD214 for military personnel.
- Must provide two (2) letters of recommendation from qualified surgeons, and documentation of OR experience and scrub proficiency from their place of employment (or this documentation can be included in the above-mentioned surgeon recommendation letters).

ACE Surgical Assisting must have received a signed enrollment agreement with down payment or payment in full. A surgical technician may enroll anytime and will start their 1st online module at the beginning of the month following the enrollment date.
