CLINICAL INTERNSHIP
Our program does not rely on using time requirements as a measure for surgical rotations. This means we do not require a month of General Surgery, followed by a month of OB/GYN, etc. Instead, we require you to complete a certain number of cases in each field to work through our program (this is described below). You also don’t have to finish one rotation before you can start another. You can work on more than one rotation simultaneously, making our program a uniquely applicable experience and more like what you will actually experience in a hospital as a surgical first assistant.

It may open up opportunities like going on rounds with your surgeon; and, once they determine the quality of your skills, the depth of your anatomy expertise, and your humble but confident demeanor, you may get to do the entire surgery under their supervision. Before enrolling and being accepted into our program, you must choose your own surgeon sponsors. While this may seem like a hassle, this is a best-case scenario because you get to work with surgeons who already like you, have your best interests in mind, and want you to succeed. We also do our best to make sure you can get your clinicals in the hospital you work at because we know the location of your clinicals matter. If you need to get some of your clinical experience in another hospital, we’ll help you with that too! It is our goal to hear your needs and respond in kind, so that you are learning the most, and gaining the best experience possible.
