You won’t have to wait until you graduate to start getting closer to the surgery. It will start within a couple of months after enrolling. After you complete the ACE 6-day Surgical SkillLab, you’ll begin your clinical internship. The lab is perfect skills preparation for starting your clinical internship with a bang – confidently performing your new surgeon-level skills.
INCREASED INCOME?
Transitioning to a Surgical Assistant often leads to a substantial pay raise – typically between $2 to $20 an hour.
Many assistants are hired by a surgeon or surgical group, which can offer increased earning potential. Some assistants choose to work for themselves. They usually bill the patient’s health insurance company, potentially earning low to mid-6-figure incomes.

CLINICAL INTERNSHIP
- Complete your clinical rotations at the hospital where you currently work.

NATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Upon graduating, you’ll be eligible to sit for the national certifying exam administered by the American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA), earning the prestigious title SA-C (Surgical Assistant – Certified), which has gained national and international recognition. This certification:
