Unleash Your Inner Surgeon!
Have you ever wanted to unleash your inner surgeon? Imagine performing segments of the surgery yourself with the confidence and precision of a surgeon, all without ever stepping foot in medical school or enduring a lengthy residency. Sounds too good to be true, right? But it’s not just a possibility – it’s a reality that could be within your grasp.
When I first mentioned this idea, many were intrigued, and rightfully so. The concept of unlocking surgeon-level skills seemed almost revolutionary. Yet, it’s exactly what we specialize in at ACE Surgical Assisting. It’s what makes us different. Our training program is designed to equip qualified surgical/medical professionals with the advanced skills necessary to take their careers to the next level. Skills that take them far beyond holding retractors and closing wounds and are the basis of the surgeon doing some of the surgery and assistant doing some.
Why Surgeon-Level Skills Matter
You might wonder, why is it so crucial for Surgical Assistants to have surgeon-level skills? The answer is simple: the role of a Surgical Assistant is evolving. According to the American College of Surgeons, Surgical Assistants are not just passive participants in the operating room. They are often required to perform parts of the surgery. The American Medical Association echoes this, stating that Surgical Assistants may be instructed to carry out specific procedures within the surgery.
This means that as a Surgical Assistant, you’re expected to do more than you might imagine – you’re like the surgeon’s partner in the procedure. The better and more advanced your skills, the more valuable you become to the surgeon and the patient.
The Path to Mastery
At ACE Surgical Assisting, we’ve developed a unique training program that’s not only effective but also engaging and affordable. Our approach demystifies the surgical process, making complex procedures understandable and accessible.
Through hands-on practice and expert instruction, we guide you in mastering the techniques and knowledge that surgeons rely on every day. Our program is designed to be flexible, allowing you to advance at your own pace while maintaining your current position.
Your Career, Elevated
The opportunity to gain surgeon-level skills without the traditional, time-consuming route of medical school or residency is a game-changer. It opens doors to new possibilities and greater job satisfaction. Imagine where your career could go if you had the skills to assist in surgeries at a level that commands respect and recognition from your peers and superiors.
So, where do you see yourself in your surgical career? Are you satisfied with your current trajectory, or do you feel like there’s something more you could achieve? If you’re ready to take that next step, we’re here to help you make it happen.
At ACE Surgical Assisting, we don’t just train you – we empower you to reach new heights in your career. The journey to unleashing your inner surgeon and unlocking surgeon-level expertise is within your reach, and it’s one that can lead to a more fulfilling, rewarding career in the surgical field.
INCOME
Unlocking Surgeon-Level Income
What does Surgeon-Level Income mean? It’s about achieving a financial reward that truly reflects the advanced skills and expertise you’ve so worked hard to acquire. Elevating your capabilities to a surgeon’s level can significantly enhance your earning potential. Whether you prefer to work for a hospital, directly for a surgeon, join an agency, or even take the bold step to work for yourself, the opportunities for higher income are abundant.
Here’s a closer look at the possibilities:
-
Work for a Hospital or Surgery Center: This is often your first choice, especially if you are contractually obligated because your training was hospital funded. However, the challenge here is that hospitals may see you as a more advanced version of your previous role – whether that was a Surgical Technologist or an OR Nurse. Any raise you receive is likely to be incremental, based on your current salary, rather than reflecting the true value you bring as a Surgical Assistant.
Yet even a modest raise can add up. For example, a $2.00 per hour increase translates into an addition $4,000 per year and $40,000 over a decade – making your investment in Surgical Assistant training a wise financial decision. However, this doesn’t quite equate to a surgeon-level income.
-
Work Directly with a Surgeon: Surgeons highly value skilled Surgical Assistants who can actively perform parts of the surgery. When a surgeon hires you, they gain a reliable partner for every case. Your availability and advanced expertise can translate into significantly higher pay, as you’re not just a passive participant – you’re an essential part of their team. Surgeons are often willing to pay a premium for an assistant who can step in and perform when needed.
Additionally, unlike the hospital, the surgical practice can bill the patient’s insurance carrier for your services. This billing capability add further to your value, potentially leading to a higher salary or even a percentage of the revenue you generate for the practice.
-
Join an Agency: Agencies offer flexibility and can connect you with a variety of surgical opportunities. With surgeon-level skills, you can command top-tier compensation because agencies recognize the value you bring to each surgical procedure.
Since agencies can bill insurance carriers for your services, you often command larger salaries than working for a hospital or a surgeon. Agencies may also offer bonuses based on hours worked, cases you assist on, or the revenue you generate. This can get you closer to the surgeon-level income you’re aiming for.
-
Work for Yourself: The most lucrative option is to work for yourself. As a freelance Surgical Assistant, you set your rates, negotiate contracts, and choose which surgeons you work with. Your surgeon-level skills become your brand, and as you build a reputation for excellence, your income potential can soar.
There is only one person on earth who will pay you at surgeon-level. That is YOU. The key to a surgeon-level income is to charge by the case rather than an hourly rate or salary. For instance, assisting on just 10 cases a week at $200 per case translates into a 6-figure income – and that’s working part-time! Some assistants have garnered mid 6-figure incomes which can come by leveraging one or more of the following revenue sources: 1) hospital contracts, 2) surgeon contracts, and 3) billing patients’ health insurance carriers.
Achieving surgeon-level income is about maximizing your advanced skills and leveraging your professional relationships. It’s about ensuring that your compensation accurately reflects the expertise and value you bring to every surgical procedure. Whether you’re seeking a raise, exploring new opportunities, or ready to go independent, developing surgeon-level skills opens the door to a more prosperous and fulfilling career.
