Surgical Assistant Program

This program is based in Greenwood Village, Colorado, and is the only fully self-paced program designed to help you learn the skills needed for surgical assisting while also working and focusing on your personal life. This program is designed to be flexible, andoffered in three sections: Distance learning from home, hands-on training, and clinical experience. Each of these sections can take place in convenient locations, meaning either at your home, nearby hospitals or even your own hospital, and with surgeons from your own hospital. Surginet ™ Distance Learning
As part of the surgical assistant training program, the Surginet ™ Distance Learning is required before you can move on to hands-on work in the surgical field. This portion of the surgical training program is fully self-paced and designed to prepare you for the demands of surgical assisting while also allowing you to work around your personal schedule and work schedule. Because the length of this program is completely based on your needs and your own pace, you can work to finish this program in as little as four to six months, but the average length of time this program takes to complete is about nine months. Everything you need in this program is online, and as part of the program, you’ll write three research papers in relation to a single theme.
Six-Day Surgical Skilllab™
Getting your hands-on training and experience is a key component of becoming a great surgical assistant. At ACE Surgical Assisting, we consider the Six-day Surgical Skilllab™ the crown jewel of our program because it not only provides our students with intensive, hands-on training, but also provides real-world experience and insight into the world of surgical assisting as you’re learning. This program prepares our students for more than just the same old routine of holding retractors, suctioning, and cutting sutures. Instead, you’ll learn the skills and techniques to assist at a higher level, the way that surgeons assist! Our standard with this portion of the program is to train our students to reach the American College of Surgeons (ACS) level of first assistants at the operating table.
Surgiedge™ Clinical Internship
The last, but certainly not least, portion of the surgical assisting program from ACE is the Surgiedge™ Clinical Internship, designed to prepare you with hands-on experience in an engaging and exciting experience online and in-person. This internship prepares you for the demands of becoming a first surgical assistant and obtaining career positions with these skills! This is the final step of our program and is designed to not only prepare you for the job, but challenge you to learn and grow into an even better skilled medical professional.
